STOP FOOD WASTE

The 24th of April is dedicated to Stopping Food Waste. This International Day aims at fighting against the growing food waste problem.

Roughly one-third of the food produced globally is either lost or wasted every year. The restaurant industry, the LIFE FOSTER project’s main target, produces 10.5 million tons of food waste each year. This means, that it contributes with 12% to the total food waste.
It only takes minor changes to your day-to-day life to make BIG effects to reducing food waste.
• When cooking, are you throwing out broccoli stems that you could be chopping up and eating in a salad? Broccoli stems are just an example, there are many other food items thrown out which can be consumed.
• If you’re at a buffet, are your eyes bigger than your stomach?
• If you’re shopping for groceries, did you prepare a meal plan and bring a grocery list?

Let us LOVE FOOD, REDUCE WASTE and with everyone’s little changes we can change the world for the better!

Start today with STOP FOOD WASTE day and continue throughout the year! You will not only be reducing waste but also reducing costs.
